AIDI organised a successful workshop on 11 December 2007, to solicit views and opinions on the National Design Policy of India from the larger community of designers and its multiple stakeholders.
120 participants split up into five groups to tackle the five themes identified by the NID-CII National Committee of Design. The themes are:
- Design Education
- Competitive advantage by design
- Branding and Communication of Indian design
- Design Parks and Funds
- Culture, Environment, Social Development & Effective Public spending
The AIDI workshop report is an amalgamation of the ideas that came from the brainstorming among the participants of the workshop. The report highlights the opportunities as well as identifies the challenges that surround the National Design Policy execution. It aims to create a structure through, which the larger design community can be involved in the implementation of this policy
