| Here’s the story: |
| The idea of a professional body to represent the design fraternity took seed over two decades ago. But previous attempts to establish such an association did not take off. |
| Now, however, India stands on the threshold of a new chapter in its design story. Over the past five years, the profession has gained wider recognition and deeper respect. Today, designers themselves are more open to the idea of collaboration and an increasing number of students are choosing design as a career. The call for a cohesive representative body has grown stronger. |
| A few design professionals responded and decided to take the plunge and AIDI was formed. They have now garnered the backing of distinguished patrons and several business leaders. But most of all they count on the support of their peers. |
| AIDI feels honored to be given the chance to shape the future of an industry that has the power to make change happen. But they are also realistic to know that time pressures do not permit everybody to work together all at once. The association has been formed so that the leadership can rotate and fresh talent can shape the way forward. While, AIDI has its base in Bangalore, they would look forward to designers opening local chapters all across the country. |

| AIDI invites you to take an active role in the leadership
The association needs you.
